Introduction (Einführung)
Halo!
Halo!
Welcome to Germany! We are getting ready to celebrate World Cultures Night at Pershing in February. You will be learning a German song which could come in handy if you ever go to Germany! Speaking of visiting Germany, you and three others will work as a team to view the sites of Germany via this activity, but your mission—You have to convince your Moms and Dads that you need to take a family vacation there. Before approaching Mom and Dad, each of you will need to complete one of four tasks to become more familiar with Germany and all it has to offer. Once your individual mission is complete, you will gather back in your team and find a creative way to present your “Tour of Germany” and reasons for going. Enjoy your trip!
The Task
(Aufgabe)
(Aufgabe)
Because you have all of Germany to tour, you will need 3 other friends to help you get your mission accomplished and find all the right issues to convince your Moms and Dads. In groups of 4, each person will take on one of the following roles:
- Tour guide 1: You will be responsible for learning to count to 10 and recite the days of the week. You must be able to teach Mom and Dad these words.
- Tour guide 2: You will be responsible for comparing and contrasting 3 German customs and traditions to those of the United States.
- Tour guide 3: You will be responsible for creating a travel brochure to convince Mom and Dad that it truly is worth the trip. You might want to share ideas with Tour Guide 4 so you can have a map of your sites.
- Tour guide 4: You will be responsible for describing 5 main points of interests in Germany and create a map showing where they are located. You might want to keep in contact with Tour Guide 3 so your map will shop the important areas that need visiting. Be sure to describe the climate in Germany at various times of the year. People want to know about the weather when they are planning a trip.
- Group Presentation: As a group, compile your information/projects and determine the best way to present your “Tour of Germany” to your parents. I think that we will try App-Smashing Google Earth, Haiku Deck, Tellagami, and iMovie to make a really interactive presentation!
