This site is really great because not only does it have resources for ELL students, but it also has a few for Adults that are learning English. For kids they can play games and take quizzes that are divided up into beginner, intermediate, and advanced. What I found really cool was a link that allows students to practice pronunciation. The video not only pronounces the words for the students, but they show students what their mouths should look like while they are making that sound/saying that word. I think this is really great because a lot of the ELL students are self conscious, and if they can be practicing at home and watching their mouths move in a mirror as they speak, the pressure is off! This site has a lot of resources though, it can be a little confusing. You would have to show children how to navigate it, and practice exploring it together. |

It includes lessons with a video dialogue and offers activities to practice their dialogue. The thing I really like about this is that it includes common idioms like "wait a sec" and "check out" and offers definitions and then quizzes to help determine their comprehension. |
